VH1 has provided us with some top-notch reality TV over the years. We know VH1 can give the goods whether it’s the Love & Hip Hop series, the numerous dating competition shows, or the celebrity-filled The Surreal Life. But what have the VH1 reality stars that we love been up to since they first appeared on our screens? While others have experienced quite substantial problems, some have progressed to bigger things. One of the most well-known wrestlers in the 1980s, Hulk Hogan’s popularity increased once he participated in his own VH1 reality series. The wrestler’s family life was depicted in Hogan Knows Best alongside his then-wife Linda, daughter Brooke, and son Nick.

Hulk Hogan has been at the center of several scandals ever since his VH1 appearance. Several lawsuits were brought about by a leaked recording that showed the celebrity spewing racial insults. He was let go by WWE at the time, but he has since come back.

Momma Dee, an Atlanta celebrity from Love & Hip Hop, has undoubtedly had a colorful history. In 2012, the reality star made her debut VH1 appearance with her son, rapper Lil’ Scrappy. Momma Dee plays the usual pushy mom on the program, intervening in her son’s relationships with occasionally violent consequences.

Women fight for the love adulation of eccentric rapper Flavor Flav on the dating game program Flavor of Love. Schatar Taylor, also known as Hottie, was one of those women in the first season of the show. The next year, Hottie not only participated in Charm School but also made an appearance in this VH1 program.

Adrianne Curry – My Fair Brady
Adrianne Curry has a long history in reality television. The winner of America’s Next Top Model’s inaugural season went on to star in VH1’s The Surreal Life. Curry met actor Christopher Knight there, and the two later starred together in the reality series My Fair Brady.

Curry and Knight did wed, but their marriage ended in 2011. Since that time, the model and her husband Matthew Rhode have left Hollywood. She now plays video games and cosplays.
Tila Tequila – A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila
An innovative reality series was called A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. Instead of a typical dating competition show, Tila Tequila made her selections from both men and women in this one. After the series 2007 premiere, spin-offs were produced.

In the first season of VH1’s Charm School in 2007, actress and comedian Mo’Nique served as the host as past competitors from the network’s dating series battle against one another to win the title of “Charm School Queen.”

Mo’Nique earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Precious just two years after presenting this VH1 reality series. The winner was the fourth lady of African American descent. Additionally, Mo’Nique has received nominations for a Grammy and an Emmy.
Alexis Arquette – The Surreal Life
While MTV chose to feature everyday people in The Real World, VH1 chose to feature celebrities in The Surreal Life. David, Rosanna, and Patricia Arquette’s sister Alexis appeared in the sixth season of the program in 2005.

Alexis Arquette served as a guest judge on the inaugural episode of Top Design after their experience on the program. Tragically, the celebrity died in 2016 at the age of 47 from complications related to HIV.
Kamal “Chance” Givens – Real Chance of Love
VH1 also offered a Real Chance of Love in addition to a flavor and a shot of love. Ahmad and Kamal Givens, known as Real and Chance respectively, were featured in this spin-off. These reality stars debuted on the dating program I Love New York before getting their own spin-off. Chance then participated in I Love Money.

We also can’t forget about Rock of Love. Brett Michaels, the main vocalist of Poison, appeared in this VH1 series and claimed to be looking for love. But hey, that’s reality TV. In actuality, many bikini-clad ladies washed his Harley as some sort of “challenge.”

After winning the third season of Celebrity Apprentice, Brett Michaels was given the opportunity to host his own reality show, Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It. Each of the star’s reality programs has its own album, with Custom Built reaching the top spot.

A less innovative variation of the VH1 reality television format was Daisy of Love. In this spin-off, the runner-up from Rock of Love’s second season looked for her own rock star.

The legendary Flavor Flav is arguably the biggest breakout star of VH1 reality television. Rapper from the 1980s made a resurgence when he appeared on The Surreal Life and later in the spin-off Strange Love with Brigitte Nielsen, his co-star and former spouse.

The network eventually gave him his own show where ladies competed for his affection. The youngest of Flavor Flav’s seven children, Jordan, was born in 2019. The celebrity has experienced legal troubles over the years and has been detained multiple times.
Stevie J – Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta
In the 1990s, producer Stevie J enjoyed great success in the music industry. In 2012, he joined the cast of the reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. The star’s tumultuous love life, including his romance with rapper Joseline Hernandez, was made public by the show.

With five women, Stevie J is the father of six children. In the 2016 premiere of his VH1 reality series Leave it to Stevie, he was shown as a devoted father. After more than 20 years of friendship, Stevie J and singer Faith Evans got married in 2018.

Brooke Hogan, daughter of Hulk Hogan, made her television debut on the reality show Hogan Knows Best. When the show was cancelled, Brooke was able to get her own VH1 spin-off where she worked on her second album.

Chrissy Lampkin – Chrissy & Mr. Jones
One of the initial reasons Love & Hip Hop was created is Chrissy Lampkin. The celebrity was collaborating with VH1 on a show called Diary of a Hip Hop Girlfriend, which was based on her romance with the rapper Jim Jones. That show eventually turned into one about Chrissy and her pals, and the rest is history.

The reality star then made an appearance on I Love Money, but she was unable to attend the reunion since she had been given a three-year prison sentence.

Tami Roman – Basketball Wives
Tami Roman is no stranger to reality television, having made her television debut on The Real World, a crucial program on MTV. In 2010, she debuted on VH1 as a member of the Basketball Wives ensemble. She had already ended her relationship with NBA player and ex-husband Kenny Anderson at that point.

Rapper and reality television sensation Joseline Hernandez, sometimes known as the Puerto Rican Princess, made waves on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Alongside her then-boyfriend Stevie J, the actress then landed a spin-off named Stevie J & Joseline: Go Hollywood. The reality actress then gave birth while appearing on VH1’s Joseline’s Special Delivery.

Joseline Hernandez has had a number of opportunities and appearances on reality TV over the years. In reality, in 2020, the celebrity made a comeback on Love & Hip Hop: Miami.
Pepa – Let’s Talk About Pep
It appears that a pipeline connects celebrities from the 1980s with reality stars from the 2000s. Consider the following: Hulk Hogan, Flavor Flav, and now Pepa, who is most known for being a member of the rap group Salt-N-Pepa. Before competing for Brett Michaels’ love on Rock of Love, Megan Hauserman made her first appearance on the reality series Beauty and the Geek. She then participated in Charm School and the inaugural season of I Love Money. Megan Wants a Millionaire, a dating show, was eventually offered to her.

Amazingly, this show was never shown since one of the competitors turned out to be a murderer. Hauserman most recently discussed her experiences on the documentary For Real: The History of Reality TV.
Brigitte Nielsen – Strange Love
Brigitte Nielsen, a Danish actress, singer, and model, and Flavor Flav, a ’80s rapper, have collaborated on 14 spinoffs and sequels since they first met on The Surreal Life. Strange Love details the couple’s relationship before Flav was surrounded by ladies vying for his attention.

Brigitte Nielsen has made appearances on a number of reality programs, including Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, UK Celebrity Big Brother, which she co-hosted with her ex-mother-in-law Jackie Stallone, The Farm in France, and Dancing With the Stars in Germany.

Destiney Sue Moore is another well-known VH1 reality personality. Moore was originally introduced to the public when she participated in Rock of Love, followed by I Love Money and Charm School. The VH1 trifecta is here!

Actor Dustin Diamond, best known for his role as Screech on the comedy Saved by the Bell, had a difficult upbringing. The actor argued with just about everyone when he appeared on Celebrity Fit Club in season five. The star made a comeback for a season of the show featuring both new and veteran contestants the following year, in 2008.

Next up is Big Ang, a cast member of Mob Wives, to use another terrible example. In addition to two spinoffs, Big Ang and Miami Monkey, the star remained on the program until 2016.

Before debuting on television, this larger-than-life reality star was charged with severe crimes but avoided going to jail. Raquel and Anthony were both raised by Angela Raiola. Sadly, the reality star died in 2016 from pneumonia and lung cancer.

Do you still think of Chrissy Lampkin as the spark that started the entire Love & Hip Hop franchise? The mother of Lampkin’s husband, rapper Jim Jones, is Mama Jones, also known as Nancy Jones. She may be seen in Chrissy & Mr. Jones and Love & Hip Hop: New York.

Funny enough, Mama Jones has a diss song about Chrissy Lampkin since she doesn’t like her. Over the years, Nancy Jones has made multiple cameos on the series as well as in other reality shows.
Sister Patterson – I Love New York
Let’s talk about Sister Patterson when we’re talking about controlling mothers. Incredibly, Sister Patterson is Tiffany Pollard’s mother despite being referred to as “Sister” in the VH1 reality series I Love New York. She made an appearance in every spin-off produced by her daughter, including New York Goes to Hollywood and New York Goes to Work.

Michelle Rothschild-Patterson, also known as Sister Patterson, has continued to appear on reality television. She and Pollard appeared together on The Steve Harvey Show, which led the host to describe the piece as the worst he had ever filmed.

The model and fitness expert then made the transition to the Love & Hip Hop series. 2018 saw Shay Johnson join the cast of Love & Hip Hop: Miami after appearing on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. She appears to be staying put!
Nick Hogan – Hogan Knows Best
And finally, we get up with Nick Hogan, the son of Hulk Hogan. Nick co-starred in the VH1 series Hogan Knows Best and its offshoot Brooke Knows Best with his dad and sister. In 2008, a car accident that left a young Hogan’s friend critically injured led to his imprisonment.

After being released from felony probation in 2012, Nick Hogan became the first male celebrity to be singled out in the 2014 celebrity photo leaks. Since then, the celebrity has put out his own music and is active on Instagram.
Joe Budden – Love & Hip Hop: New York
On Love & Hip Hop: New York’s third season, Joe Budden made an appearance. One of the most popular reality shows on television, the show centers on the lives of hip-hop artists, producers, and managers. Budden was already a well-known rapper when he first made an appearance.

The so-called “Howard Stern of Hip-Hop” is now a broadcaster who produces a hugely successful podcast. In 2018 and 2019, the reality star made a second appearance on the show.

The artist Ray J is best known for being on a recording with a young Kim Kardashian that was released. The rapper has also made appearances in a number of VH1 reality shows, such as Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business and For the Love of Ray J.
